Lunch Menu

All Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children are entitled to a free school meal. Lunch prices for children in other year groups are £2.20 per day – £11.00 per week.

New Menu

Our new three week school menu starts on Monday 4th of June 2018, with a choice of four main courses including a vegetarian option and a selection of puddings prepared everyday by our school’s catering team. In addition children also have a choice of salads to choose from. The menu is designed to encourage a balanced diet and children are encouraged to make healthy choices. Meals are eaten in the main school hall. We aim to provide varied, nutritious, value for money meals for your child. We want to help your child feel relaxed, well fed and safe at lunch time in readiness to continue their learning in the afternoon.

Paying for School Meals

Unfortunately we can no longer accept cash/cheque payments for school lunches via the school office. We are working together with ParentPay to offer you an online, convenient way to pay and receive information about school lunches. ParentPay can be accessed on PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone, by emailing parentpay@northtyneside.gov.uk.

New to ParentPay?

Please e-mail catering.services@northtyneside.gov.uk to request a ParentPay code, quoting your child’s name, school, year and class. Please click on this link to be taken to the ParentPay website. Help screens will be available to take you through the process. Save the link to see menus whilst on the go. Please register even if your child usually takes a packed lunch to ensure they are only coming in for a meal when you want them to. By using ParentPay you will be able to check meals taken, balances, make payments, receive account top up reminder, see the current menus and receive advance notification of new menus. Please ensure you pay in advance to avoid receiving an invoice at the end of each academic year.

Packed Lunches

Children can also bring their own packed lunch from home. They will eat their lunch, along with the children taking a school lunch, in the hall. We ask that packed lunches are brought to school in named containers. For safety reasons we do not allow glass bottles or containers or hot liquids in flasks. As part of our healthy school campaign we ask that children are encouraged to bring lunches that support a balanced, nutritious diet e.g. sandwiches, fruit, vegetable sticks, yoghurt and water to drink. We would ask parents to support us with this by not including sweets in lunch boxes.

Free School Meals
