Physical Education

Physical Education

Leader: Miss. S. Rutter

Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.

– John F Kennedy

Physical Education develops children’s physical skills, confidence, capabilities and potential. It gives opportunities for children to be creative and competitive while learning to work with and respect others.

At Hazlewood Community Primary School children learn how to plan, perform and evaluate actions, often in pairs and small groups, helping them to develop the quality and effectiveness of their work. We promote a positive attitude towards active lifestyles and aim to introduce children to lifelong physical activity. From Year 1 up to Year 6, all children have access to sporting FREE extra-curricular clubs throughout the year (funded by the P.E. Premium) and are encouraged to develop their sports skills by attending these.
